Academic Projects
This page is to show the projects that I did as part of my course work.

The group was tasked with designing a wrist orthosis within a limited time period and provided with limited household materials to build the prototype. Our design featured adjustable straps, bubble wrap interior, and a zigzag cardboard design that provides extra support and makes the device more fashionable.

Okoye Gurrira has an ileostomy and requires an ostomy bag for bodily waste removal. She uses a two-piece ostomy bag, which consists of a skin barrier that adheres to the skin and a pouch that stores the waste. Okoye was ensure of the connection between the two pieces. My team was tasked with designing a solution to her problem.

Ke Huy Quan is an obese 54 year old male who had a total hip arthroplasty done. His pain symptoms returned 5 years post op as a result of osteolysis. The bone atrophy in the bone diaphysis (medullary canal) caused the aseptic loosening of his prosthesis, which was why he was experiencing thigh and grown pain. We designed Keyure, a tougher hip implant that would reduce the incidence of osteolysis and the need for a revision arthroplasty.

DP3 was an open ended project where teams were asked to design a wearable device. Team 25 designed an insole that can collect data on the force distribution while walking and standing. It is made for physiotherapy patients who suffered from a lower body injury.

Mrs. Liu, a McMaster engineering student with SAS, has a medical condition that causes her pain in her joints. This made it impossible for her to play piano, and my team's goal was to design a product that allows her to do so.
